泰國當局表示，清邁一名曾經到過南韓的男子，經過檢測後，證實對「中東呼吸症候群」MERS呈現陰性反應，他只罹患普通感冒。

另外，當局已經聯絡到170多名，和當地首宗MERS確診病患接觸過的民眾，要求他們遠離公共場所，方便讓醫護人員監控健康狀況。

而泰國第一名確診病例的三名家屬，經過檢測後也都呈陰性反應、證實並未被感染，但他們還是遭到隔離。

泰國衛生部長認為，當地爆發疫情的可能性很低。
